The opportunity: your next adventure awaits (Job Summary)

As the Business Development, Communications and Impact Consultant, you will develop, lead and execute on B2B business development and grant development strategies and action plans to enable the Institute to realize its strategic plan and ambitious growth and impact goals. With experience in Business to Business (B2B) social enterprise business development, sales, prospecting and grant funding development, ideally in financial services or from the financial health perspective. You are a highly driven motivated self-starter and thrive working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment to drive results. With a bias to action and execution, you are entrepreneurial, adept at multi-tasking and demonstrate proactivity on an on-going basis to drive results.

You will lead the systemizing and acceleration our organization’s business development, marketing and grant funding development, driving results against monthly key performance goals, leading outreach, prospecting and identifying opportunities for impact. While business and grant development will be your primary focus, you will also lead B2B communications and digital marketing and engagement for the Institute and support targeted impact projects as required.

Salary Range

$60,000 to $70,000 plus employee benefits
Four weeks of paid vacation per year

Accountabilities

  • Develop, manage, and execute the annual business development and grant funding development plan and action plans, delivering results and specific sales, marketing and impact KPIs monthly, working with the CEO and Founder. Lead business development and grant development with values-aligned organizations (in particular, Financial Institutions and insurance companies) to generate leads, build relationships and acquire new clients, funders, partners and subscribers.
  • Systemize business development, prospecting, and marketing, while enhancing the Institute’s value proposition, impact programs and driving positive outcomes for strategic funders, clients, partners and subscribers. Lead and support proposals, developing grant funding applications and strategic partnership development, with a clear linkage to the impact and business goals of values-aligned organizations.
  • Lead communication, marketing and digital media marketing, manage and execute the Institute’s digital marketing. Lead B2B purpose-led storytelling, marketing and communications to connect target stakeholders and partners to our purpose, inspire more organizations to partner with our non-profit and ultimately, drive positive social, financial and business outcomes.
  • Create succinct use cases, case studies, application and evidence-based thought- leadership and engagement, while optimizing digital marketing and engagement through our website, LinkedIn and other key channels.
  • Build awareness around the Institute’s publicly available, free Financial Well-Being Index Model and Toolkit and other instruments, methodologies, solutions and team capabilities through targeted impact projects, client and partner marketing and referrals, influencer meetings and/or pilots, identifying opportunities and driving sales and marketing efficiencies.
  • Create template presentations, grant and commercial proposals, assets and tools to support efficient business development and sales, while help systemize and increase our outbound marketing and business development activities. Actively work with a pipeline of potential organizations to ‘funnel’ opportunities the CEO and grow our organization’s financial sustainability, capacity and impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.

A Typical Day in Role

  • You lead contact management, business and grant applications with high-potential grant funders or strategic partners focused on small business financial health and systems change.
  • You execute business development action plans and meet with strategic partners and influencers as part of your regular outreach.
  • You report on progress through our business development tracker and report on key metrics to the CEO and Board.
  • You help socialize, pilot and market key programs working with Financial Institution and other partners, while capturing application, business development and impact opportunities.
  • You synthesize report findings into insights and calls to action while inspiring organizations to work with our non-profit.
  • You create compelling user cases and insights for financial health experts while connecting them to our purpose and showing how the Institute can help them achieve their business, customer and social impact goals.

Experience

You have 2 to 4 years of experience in working in social enterprise business development, sales and marketing, with social financial health knowledge and expertise an asset.
